Chihuahuas are but the cutest dogs on earth, and they are perfectly suitable as home pets. Their face wears an amusingly saucy and foolhardy expression, which makes us forget for a moment about their miniature size.
Chihuahuas are very prone to cold, and therefore you should not expose them to sharp temperature falls. Short-haired Chihuahuas do better in small dog sweaters in cold seasons. These dogs have fragile bones and are susceptible to fractures.
Chihuahuas require specific care, and there are some points to remember concerning proper and timely care. These dogs can develop strong doggy odor, and therefore, it is necessary to bathe them regularly at least one or two times per month. However, note that too frequent bathing is likely to result in the dryness of skin and dandruff.
Chihuahuas are one of the smallest dogs in the world; their height at the withers does not exceed 6-9 inches, and weight does not go beyond 6 pounds. They come in different colors, including brindle, fawn, tan, blonde, blue, black, red, brown and so forth.
